1. What is Chautauqua Magazine?
We are a monthly publication founded five years ago on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution.
2. Where do these magazines go?
We distribute through our advertisers of 320 sites throughout Western New York from North East, Pennsylvania to Hamburg, New York, and the Buffalo Airport – primarily along routes 5 & 20. Then, along routes 394 and 430 in Chautauqua County from Westfield to Jamestown, Findley Lake to Bemus Point and Ellicottville to Frewsburg.
3. What is your biggest complaint?
That advertisers run out of magazines.
4. What does it cost to advertise?
Ads are sold yearly, monthly and quarterly and range in price from $65 per year for business directory listings to $75 for professional listings. Display ads run monthly and range in price from $50 to $400 per month. Co-operative ads where communities pitch in to pay for full page exposure are billed quarterly for a cost of $60 to $75. Map and index page ads start at $35 per unit to $50 per full color unit.
5. How many copies are distributed each month?
Twenty-five hundred copies are printed each month for a total of 30,000 printed magazines given out each year.
